I?ve been in Tanzania nearly 2 weeks and I?m getting settled. Here?s an overview of what I?ve been up to.

Riding in the back of the Lnadcruiser, on the Highway from Dar Es Salaam to Morogoro.

I'm stationed at APOPO studying African Giant Pouched rats. Here I am with an APOPO HeroRat in Training

Now, to the field so I can study pouched rats in the wild. The field is thick with grass, much it it taller than me.

Laying out the trapping grid, 70 x 70 meters squared

Blade grass like this cut me up every inch of the way

Here's a view of my traps in the field.

I pre-baited my traps with banana. This looks like a very possible nibble from my rats.
I?ll be setting the traps soon to catch rats.
